During the February half-term break we had a fantastic time running our Children’s Holiday Camps in Solihull – making sure Solihull children had an active and fun time during their school holidays!
It was great to see so many new faces at our camps during February, as well as all returning children! We review all the action from our FootieBugs, DanceBugs and MultiBugs camps below.
At the FootieBugs Holiday Camp, there were some tremendous skills on show from all the football superstars that attended! Through a combination of fun games and mini-circuit sessions, children focused on improving their skills, whilst trying to win their favourite games such as the crossbar challenge and penalty shoot out! On Friday, children were put into teams and tried to win points during more fun mini-games and small sided matches, with the winning team earning brilliant trophies and all children taking home a FootieBugs superstar certificate!
Held at the same venue of the Solihull Sixth form was the DanceBugs Holiday Camp. The Dance camp was a fun filled, exciting week that combined acrobatics, dance, physical theatre and cheerleading! Children worked within small groups and teams making new friends, building confidence and learning brand new skills! The camp was based on show time, allowing children to show what they had learnt during the week, including Maya, who mastered her cartwheel on just day two of the camp! Please see our Facebook page for lots of pictures from the holiday camp!
The MultiBugs Holiday Camp was held at Tudor Grange Secondary Academy and offered the perfect variety of sports for children! With over 30 different sports, games and activities throughout the week, all kids enjoyed the wide range on offer! This allowed them to play some of their favourite sports as well as experiencing new ones they may not have tried before! Similarly to the FootieBugs Camp, the Friday was also competition day, where there were more great prizes and trophies given to the winning team!
Also attending the MultiBugs Holiday Camp were our two new Junior Coaches! The Junior Coach Programmes run at all of our Children’s Holiday Camps in Solihull, offering boys and girls aged 12-16 the chance to gain valuable coaching experience by working with our fully qualified and trained coaches! Both Junior Coaches helped run sessions throughout the week, whilst completing their coaching workbook and progressing through the five levels of the programme.
